2027 Nissan Z
2027 Nissan Z
Calgary drivers looking at a two-seat sports car now have a refreshed 2027 Nissan Z to consider, one that pairs a heritage-styled exterior with real mechanical changes underneath. Z NISMO picks up an available six-speed manual for the first time, matched to lighter GT-R-derived front brake rotors, while Z Performance benefits from larger shock absorbers for steadier handling. Every grade also gets a redesigned fuel tank engineered to keep fuel delivery consistent during sustained cornering. None of this changes the core recipe of a twin-turbocharged V6 and rear-wheel drive that Z owners already know. Fish Creek Nissan has the full 2027 lineup on hand now, with the foothills west of Calgary offering an obvious proving ground for a test drive.
What’s new on the 2027 Nissan Z?
Exterior
Nissan’s designers turned to the S30, better known as the original 240Z, for the car’s new split grille, which bisects the front opening with a body-colour bar. That same reference shows up in a new Z emblem on the nose, replacing the Nissan badge on every grade, echoing a treatment last used on the S30, S130, Z31, and Z32. Behind the scenes, engineers had to reposition the front parking sensors to make the new grille shape work without giving up cooling.
Z Performance carries the freshest hardware for 2027: redesigned 19-inch forged wheels, finished with black spokes and a machined rim, riding on Bridgestone Potenza tires. A new Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic finish joins the colour palette for Sport and Performance grades, always matched to a Super Black roof. Nissan engineers built the paint from fine yellow and blue pigments specifically to resist fading, a detail that matters through a Calgary summer’s worth of strong, high-altitude sun, and finished it with a light metallic flake that plays up the car’s body lines. The colour traces back to Grand Prix Green, a shade once offered on the S30.

Interior
Behind the wheel, the 2027 Z’s cabin holds to its 2-passenger, driver-first format. An 8-inch touchscreen sits ahead of a fully digital TFT gauge cluster, and every grade adds a 3-bay instrument panel display for turbo boost, turbine speed, and voltmeter readings. Black woven cloth covers the 8-way manual driver’s seat on Sport grade; step up to Performance and the seats switch to synthetic suede inserts or full leather, gain heating for the driver, and pick up a bolster and cushion shape specific to that trim.
Tan seating joins the options list on Performance grade this year, a callback to the S30’s original interior colours, set off nicely against the black trim on the upper dash and doors. NISMO sits above both, wrapped in leather-and-Alcantara Recaro seats built exclusively for that grade with matching NISMO badging. On startup, Sport and Performance now animate through seven generations of Z on the digital display, while NISMO runs its own dedicated startup sequence and meter graphics.

Powertrain
Output comes from a shared VR30DDTT 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 across the lineup, engineered with a DOHC layout, direct injection, and Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control. Sport and Performance are rated at 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. NISMO’s version of that same engine is tuned further, to 420 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. A new fuel tank design for 2027 keeps fuel positioned near the pump under sustained high-G cornering, whether that’s a track day or a spirited run toward Kananaskis Country.
Every 2027 Z sends power to the rear wheels from a mid-mounted front engine. The 6-speed close-ratio manual with an EXEDY high-performance clutch remains standard across Sport, Performance, and NISMO, and Sport and Performance can be optioned with a 9-speed automatic instead. The big mechanical story for NISMO this year is its own available six-speed manual, built with a shorter shift lever ratio, an upgraded clutch, and throttle and ignition tuning calibrated specifically for the manual gearbox. A mechanical limited-slip differential is standard on both Performance and NISMO.
Technology

Infotainment & Audio
Every 2027 Z ships with an 8-inch touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth streaming, hands-free calling, Siri Eyes Free, hands-free text messaging, and voice recognition. Sport grade routes sound through a 6-speaker Nissan system; Performance and NISMO instead get an 8-speaker Bose setup with Active Noise Cancellation and Active Sound Enhancement, both retuned for 2027 to complement the new manual transmission. NissanConnect, complete with a WiFi hotspot and NissanConnect Services telematics, is included on Performance and NISMO as well.

Driver-Assist & Convenience
Driver-assist features are standard fleet-wide: Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Cruise Control, a RearView Monitor, and front and rear parking sensors. Performance and NISMO buyers also gain access to a new Qi2 wireless charger, rated at up to 15 watts with magnetic alignment and a built-in cooling fan for warm-weather drives.
